Code of ethics

The code of ethics sets out the core principles of professional conduct for the members of the Association and is binding on all member organisations. The full text of the document can be downloaded from this page as a PDF file.

Core principles

1. Professionalism — services are offered only where the necessary knowledge, experience and resources exist, and quality standards are observed.
2. Confidentiality — information obtained about a client is not disclosed to third parties and is used solely for the purpose of the engagement.
3. Independence and objectivity — findings and recommendations are presented impartially, on the basis of facts and analysis.
4. Avoiding conflicts of interest — the client is informed of any potential conflict in advance and appropriate measures are taken.
5. Integrity and transparency — the scope, duration and price of a service are agreed clearly, and no misleading impression is created in marketing or presentations.
6. Professional development — members continuously extend their knowledge and apply contemporary approaches in the field.

Complaints about breaches of the code are examined by the Board.
